  8.        1.  _I_n_t_r_o_d_u_c_t_i_o_n

  10.        The Silicon Graphics Image Format Library (IFL) is a library
  11.        for opening, reading, writing and creating image files in a
  12.        format independent manner. IFL consists of a library
  13.        developed in C++. An interface library for C programmers is
  14.        also provided.  IFL includes support for the TIFF, PNG, GIF,
  15.        JFIF(JPEG), SGI, PPM, Photo CD, Alias, SOFTIMAGE, YUV, FIT
  16.        and raw file formats. It is designed to be very easy to use
  17.        with a straight-forward mechanism for user-extension to
  18.        other file formats.

  20.        IFL software consists of a primary library for C++, a
  21.        supporting library for C programmers, and the header files
  22.        for compiling new software using these libraries.
  23.        Documentation consists of online man pages for all object
  24.        classes and supporting routines.

  27.               contains the Software License Agreement.  This
  28.               software is provided to you solely under the terms
  29.               and conditions of the Software License Agreement.

  79.        (the _r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s subsystem), you can view the release notes on
  80.        your screen.

  83.        the Tools submenu of the Toolchest. This displays the
  84.        _g_r_e_l_n_o_t_e_s(1) graphical browser for the online release notes.

  87.        options to this command.
